Redirect Tool
The Redirect Tool lets you add a link to the left-hand navigation in your course. You can redirect to any web resource that allows framed-in content.
Three warnings:
- Not every web resource permits content framing. You may find that adding a web resource will cause your course to behave in unexpected ways (mostly redirecting the browser to some home page or warning message).
- Scripting and dynamic content on the page will prevent the resource from rendering within Canvas. All students will see is a big, blank screen, unless the content is being served via secure protocol (https, as opposed to http). This is an issue caused by browsers, which block mixed-security content in pages. All major browsers do this.
- Use this technique sparingly. Navigation overload can make it difficult for students to locate the information that they're looking for.
